Kuwait is a small, conservative oil rich country with little interest in attracting major international productions.
Most work for a fixer in Kuwait is on documentaries and new gathering jobs. The biggest such jobs were a documentary by the BBC on the Organisation of Arab Oil Exporting Countries with is magnificent headquarters in Kuwait, filming a documentary on the Kuwait Fund for Economic Development and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, and the filming of Build It Bigger for Discovery Channel.
There used to be a lot more interest in filming in Kuwait when US, UK and Australian forces were still active in Iraq and using Kuwait as a base. There are still occasional jobs from US news agencies interested in the sizeable US military base that still operates in Kuwait.
If you have a particular topic you’d like to film in Kuwait, let me know in advance so that I have some time to contact and get answers from relevant authorities.
