I came to Starbucks to ignore people

I came to Starbucks to ignore people because I know how much it annoys them. Figured the best place to do so would be sitting right behind the Christmas tree.

It seems you are supposed to acknowledge them in some way thus allowing them the opportunity to snob you.

Stepped outside for a smoke and there’s a table with a bunch of blokes. Only place to sit is the table near them. Someone across the road tries to park a small muffled up car in a space that fits a bus.

There’s fussing all over the place. A couple blokes from the table get involved, shouting advise. They go across the road to faff.

Car finally parked, engine and muffler off, having alerted everyone within hearing distance of your arrival, and started annoying some people.

All return to table with much chatter and patting of backs.

I wonder if it was poor parking skills or camaraderie in doing something mundane as parking together.

I’ve had trouble with similar groups of Cypriot boys before. The girls start fancying you, the boys get jealous and angry gang up on you. They get physical about it.

I was once escorted out of a joint by a group I did not recognize because of something to do with girls I didn’t know were there – maybe they were the two who kept dancing in my corner. I might have danced with and around them.

The followed me out the joint too close so I pulled out my bike flashlight, the one that flips off, and warned them that I’d taze and send someone to hospital tonight. They all backed off and I left.

Them boys been told by management not to go bug the customers. I thought they got off light.

In another situation one of the recognized it and grabbed it from me. A brief scuffle ensued. I took him to have done some bouncing work.

I don’t think anyone meant me any harm.

I think we’re all lucky I wasn’t carrying a knife.

‘You’re not welcome here.’

I am not the first foreigner to be hit with this blunt tool.

But do click here and buy something https://bit.ly/2TAPnnz because buying things will make you happier.

Last night I ended up talking hops and yeast with a guy running a pub type brewery with buckets fermenting in the corner.

He drives into the hills collecting samples of yeasts in little bottles. He then makes small beer runs with them, the yeast, to see which would make a good beer.

There was also a young Hungarian couple running a little eatery around the corner and they make all kinds of things themselves; sausages and what not.

I ended up eating meat that had been cooked for 15 hours or three days. Not sure which.
